Butter-Seared Lobster and Steak Surf & Turf 🥩🦞
A luxurious surf and turf dish featuring a perfectly seared filet mignon, buttery lobster tail, and golden grilled potatoes in a rich, savory sauce!
Ingredients:
🔹 For the Steak:
2 filet mignon steaks (about 6 oz each)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 sprigs fresh thyme
🔹 For the Lobster:

2 small lobster tails, shells cut and meat slightly lifted
2 tbsp butter, melted
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
🔹 For the Grilled Potatoes:
8-10 baby potatoes, halved
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
🔹 For the Sauce:
1/2 cup beef broth
1/4 cup heavy cream (optional for a creamy version)
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions:
1️⃣ Prepare the Potatoes: Boil halved baby potatoes for 10 minutes until tender. Drain, toss with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Grill on a skillet or grill pan for 3-4 minutes per side until golden. Set aside.
2️⃣ Sear the Steak: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Season steaks with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Sear for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare (or adjust to preference). Add butter and thyme, baste the steaks for 1 minute, then remove and let rest.
3️⃣ Cook the Lobster: Mix melted butter, garlic, paprika, lemon juice, and parsley. Brush over lobster meat. Sear in the same pan over medium heat for 3-4 minutes until opaque and tender.
4️⃣ Make the Sauce: In the same pan, add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Let reduce for 2-3 minutes, then whisk in butter (and heavy cream if using) until smooth.
5️⃣ Assemble & Serve: Plate the steak with a butter-seared lobster tail on top. Arrange grilled potatoes around the plate and drizzle with the savory sauce. Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley and serve immediately!
