Festive Cherry Crumble Bars
Ingredients:
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
For the Glaze (optional):
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.
Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt.
Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, mixing until just combined.
Prepare the Base Layer: Spread approximately 3 cups of the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Add Cherry Filling: Carefully spoon the cherry pie filling over the base layer, spreading it evenly.
Top Layer: Drop the remaining batter by spoonfuls over the cherry filling. It’s okay if some cherry filling peeks through.
Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool: Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
For the Glaze (Optional):
Prepare the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Drizzle: Once the bars are completely cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top using a spoon or a piping bag.
Serve: Allow the glaze to set before cutting into bars. Serve and enjoy!
