Ingredients:
Dough:
1 cup warm milk (110°F / 43°C) 🥛
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (or 1 packet) 🌾
1/4 cup granulated sugar 🍬
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted 🧈
1 large egg 🥚
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 🍞
1/2 teaspoon salt 🧂
Strawberry Filling:
1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries, chopped 🍓
1/4 cup granulated sugar 🍬
1 tablespoon cornstarch 🌽
1 teaspoon lemon juice 🍋
2 tablespoons softened butter, for spreading 🧈
Cream Cheese Frosting:
4 oz cream cheese, softened 🧀
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened 🧈
1 cup powdered sugar 🍚
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 🍦
2 tablespoons heavy cream (for a smoother texture) 🥛

Instructions:

  1. Make the Dough:
In a small bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
In a large bowl, combine melted butter, egg, flour, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  2. Prepare the Strawberry Filling:
In a small saucepan, combine chopped strawberries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened (about 5-7 minutes). Let it cool completely.
Once cooled, mash the mixture slightly to make it easier to spread.
  3. Assemble the Rolls:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle (about 12×18 inches) on a floured surface.
Spread the softened butter over the dough, then evenly spread the cooled strawberry filling on top, leaving a small border around the edges.
Roll the dough tightly from the long side, creating a log. Slice the log into 12 equal pieces.
Place the rolls in the prepared baking dish, cover with a towel, and let them rise for another 20-30 minutes.
  4. Bake the Rolls:
Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  5. Make the Cream Cheese Frosting:
In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream until smooth and fluffy.
  6. Frost & Serve:
Spread the cream cheese frosting generously over the warm rolls. Garnish with a few extra chopped strawberries if desired. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!
    Tips:
For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of cinnamon to the strawberry filling.
Make sure the strawberry filling is fully cooled before spreading to prevent soggy dough.
Use fresh strawberries for a brighter flavor, but frozen works well too!
