Homemade Strawberry Swirl Ice Cream

Homemade Strawberry Swirl Ice Cream

Ingredients:

For the vanilla ice cream base:
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

For the strawberry sauce:
1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions:
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Cook while stirring for about 10 minutes until the strawberries break down and the mixture thickens. Let cool completely.

In a separate bowl, whisk together heavy cream, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar dissolves. Pour into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Once the ice cream is soft-set, fold in the cooled strawberry sauce, creating a swirl effect. Transfer to a container and freeze for at least 3 hours until firm.

Scoop into bowls, drizzle with extra strawberry sauce, and garnish with fresh strawberries. Enjoy!
