Candy-Coated Chocolate Brownies
Ingredients:
For the Brownies:
1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, melted
1 1/4 cups (250g) granulated sugar
3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar
3 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips
1 cup (180g) candy-coated chocolate pieces, divided
Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, melt the butter in the microwave or on the stove. Once melted, add the granulated sugar and brown sugar to the butter, stirring until well combined.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and stir until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Stir in the chocolate chips and 3/4 cup of the candy-coated chocolate pieces, reserving the rest for the topping.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake.
Once baked, remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining candy-coated chocolate pieces on top while the brownies are still warm.
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
