Sheet Pan Egg-in-a-Hole
Ingredients
- 12 slices bacon
- 6 slices bread, ½-inch thick
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 6 large eggs
- 6 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan
- 1 ½ teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
Instructions

- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cook the bacon: Place the bacon slices in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 5-7 minutes until the bacon is par-cooked. Transfer it to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
- Prepare the baking sheet: Lightly grease a baking sheet with oil or coat it with non-stick spray.
- Prepare the bread: Use a 3-inch biscuit cutter to cut a hole in the center of each slice of bread. Butter one side of each bread slice, then place the bread onto the prepared baking sheet with the buttered side facing down.
- Add the bacon and eggs: Place a slice of bacon in each bread hole. Gently crack an egg into each hole, being careful to keep the yolk intact. Sprinkle the eggs with Parmesan cheese and fresh thyme leaves. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Bake the egg-in-a-hole: Place the baking sheet into the oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the egg whites are set but the yolk remains soft.
- Serve: Remove the sheet pan from the oven and garnish with chopped fresh chives. Serve immediately and enjoy!
