Ingredients:
For the chocolate cake:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1½ teaspoons baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup buttermilk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot water
For the Oreo cream frosting:
- 1½ cups unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup finely crushed Oreo cookies (without filling)
For the chocolate ganache:
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
For decoration:
- Whole Oreo cookies
- Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Stir in hot water until the batter is smooth and thin.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans and bake for 28–32 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and let cool completely on wire racks.
- Prepare the frosting by beating the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, cream, and vanilla. Mix until fluffy, then fold in crushed Oreos.
- Make the ganache by heating heavy cream until steaming. Pour over chocolate chips and let sit for 2 minutes. Stir until smooth and let cool slightly.
- Assemble the cake: Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread Oreo frosting over the top. Repeat with the second and third layers. Frost the outside and top of the cake with remaining frosting.
- Drizzle ganache over the top, allowing it to drip down the sides. Decorate with whipped cream swirls and whole Oreo cookies.
Chill for 30 minutes before slicing.
