Decadent Salted Caramel Chocolate Torte

Ingredients:
For the Torte:
🍫 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped

🧈 1 cup unsalted butter, melted

🍚 1 cup granulated sugar

🥚 4 large eggs

🌾 ¾ cup all-purpose flour

🧂 ½ teaspoon salt

🥄 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Salted Caramel Sauce:
🍚 1 cup granulated sugar

🧈 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed

🥛 ½ cup heavy cream

🧂 ½ teaspoon sea salt

Directions:
Prepare the Torte:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan and line with parchment paper.

Melt dark chocolate and butter together over a double boiler or in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

In a separate bowl, whisk sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla extract.

Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture until well combined.

Sift in flour and salt, then gently fold until just combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the center is just set.

Let the torte cool completely before removing from the pan.

Prepare the Salted Caramel Sauce:

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar while stirring constantly until golden brown.

Add butter and whisk until fully incorporated. Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring.

Remove from heat and mix in sea salt. Let cool slightly before using.

Assemble the Torte:

Drizzle the salted caramel sauce over the cooled torte.

Garnish with additional sea salt flakes and chocolate shavings if desired.
