Chocolate Cake

A rich and decadent chocolate cake that is moist, fluffy, and perfect for any celebration or sweet craving.

Ingredients:

For the cake:

• 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

• 2 1/2 cups granulated sugar

• 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

• 2 tsp baking powder

• 1 1/2 tsp baking soda

• 1/2 tsp salt

• 1 cup buttermilk (or whole milk)

• 1/2 cup vegetable oil

• 2 large eggs

• 2 tsp vanilla extract

• 1 cup boiling water

For the frosting:

• 1 cup heavy cream

• 1/2 cup powdered sugar

• 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together until well blended.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Carefully stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth and thin.

Bake the Cakes: Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Make the Frosting: In a medium bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

Frost the Cake: Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of frosting on top. Place the second layer on top and frost the top and sides of the cake.
