Creamy Crab and Shrimp Seafood Bisque ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿค

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup carrots, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • 2 cups seafood stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 pound crab meat, picked over for shells
  • 1/2 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley (for garnish)

Directions:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, garlic, celery, and carrots. Sautรฉ for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are soft.
  2. Stir in the thyme, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using) and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Add the seafood stock and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream and bring the mixture back to a gentle simmer. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  5. Add the crab meat and shrimp to the pot. Cook for 4-5 minutes, or until the shrimp turns pink and opaque.
  6. Add butter to the bisque and stir until melted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Remove from heat and serve the bisque in bowls, garnished with fresh chopped parsley.
