Crockpot Mississippi Chicken 🍗🌿

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 5-6 pepperoncini peppers (whole)
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
  • Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.
  1. Add Seasonings:
  • Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix evenly over the chicken.
  1. Add Butter and Peppers:
  • Cut the stick of butter into slices and place them on top of the chicken and seasoning mixture.
  • Add the whole pepperoncini peppers on top. If you like, you can also add sliced black olives for extra flavor.
  1. Cook:
  • Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.
  1. Shred the Chicken:
  • Once cooked, use two forks to shred the chicken directly in the crockpot, mixing it with the sauce and peppers.
  1. Serve:
  • Serve the Mississippi chicken over rice, mashed potatoes, or in a sandwich. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
