Herb and Cheese Bread Loaves

Herb and Cheese Bread Loaves

🛒 Ingredients:

3 cups all-purpose flour
1 packet active dry yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup warm water (110°F)
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon dried herbs (rosemary, thyme, oregano)
1 egg (for egg wash)

📝 Instructions:

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and divide it into two equal pieces. Shape each piece into a loaf and place on a greased baking sheet or cooling rack.
In a small bowl, whisk the egg and brush it over the top of each loaf. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and dried herbs.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the loaves are golden brown with a glossy sheen.
Remove from the oven and let cool on a rack before slicing.
